The single preceding the release of the "1989" album, Shake It Off debuted on the Hot 100 at #1. After 2 weeks at #1 in was bumped to #2 by All About That Bass for 8 weeks. Then (after 10 weeks), it returned to #1 for another 2 weeks, only to be superseded by Blank Space for another 7 weeks at #1. "1989" became the best-selling album of 2014 almost immediately.
